The subject of tax is one that has been the butt of many jokes. For example, Alfred Neuman once said, “Today, it takes more brains and effort to make out the income-tax form than it does to make the income”.
Or how about this from Erwin Griswold? “We have long had death and taxes as the two standards of inevitability. But there are those who believe that death is the preferable of the two. "At least," as one man said, "there's one advantage about death; it doesn't get worse every time Congress meets."
Seriously though, as F.D. Roosevelt once said, “Taxes, after all, are dues that we pay for the privileges of membership in an organised society”.
For all of this, there is nothing that says you have to pay tips or gratuities to the IRD, and to ensure you are not doing just that, you should be talking to us.
